Our organization is run entirely by NC State students! There are four primary ways to get involved:
- Become a Small Group Leader! Small Group Leaders are critical to the success of TYLC: Small Group Leaders work in pairs and facilitate the learning and networking of 8-12 high school student participants through the conference. Responsibilities of the Small Group Leader include guiding assigned students through conference schedule (ensuring they arrive at workshops, meetings, events etc. on time), facilitating bonding within the group (icebreakers, team building), facilitating student development of the Service Project Prototype (ensuring students stay on task and on schedule, providing any resources/input necessary), debrief conference with students, handle any student-centered problems that arise day-of conference. Our Small Group Leader Application is open NOW through November 30th! Click Here to apply to be a Small Group Leader during TYLC11.
- Lead a Workshop with your student organization! Each Triangle Youth Leadership Conference features 4-5 interactive workshops led by NCSU Offices and Organizations on varying topics of leadership and professionalism. Do you think a club or organization that you’re in could create a great TYLC Workshop? Contact us at email@example.com – we’d like to get to know you!
- Help Promote NCSU to our conference participants! Each TYL Conference features a campus tour, info session, and Q&A panel of NCSU students. If you are involved with University Ambassadors or a similar recruitment-focused student organization, you may be asked to help us promote the Pack to our high school participants!
- Join our Executive Board! Our Executive Board works behind the scenes to make TYLC happen every year: from high school outreach to application management to website upkeep to social media to accommodation logistics to conference schedule design to small group and workshop coordination (and everything in-between!), our Executive Board attends to every detail of the Triangle Youth Leadership Conference. If you’re a deeply motivated NCSU student with skills in written communication and an interest in youth leadership development, we’d love to have you join our small, dedicated Executive Board. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you think you’d be a good fit!
